How to Edit Moody Orange Tone using Lightroom - Timothy Concept

Hello, my family. Welcome to Timothy Concept with another cool editing trick and an awesome tip tutorial on Lightroom's moody orange tone. You can preview the result of the moody orange tone in the image below. For those who are new to my blog, I'm a guy with over half a decade of experience in photo editing. The moody orange effect is a cool effect in your photo that involves altering the background and color-grading the image. If you guys want your photo to be edited like the result you see in the image below, read the article to the end so as not to miss any steps and to get the editing materials needed for this editing tutorial.

Note: You have to read carefully before you proceed with editing your own moody orange tone.

I make use of two images of the same model, but with different tones and effects on the left and on the right, as you can see in the image above. The left side has an unedited aspect that looks unappealing to the eye, and after applying the moody orange tone to the image, you will see the distinct result of the image on the right-hand side of the photo above. The non-edited photo has a simple background where the model is sitting on a rock with an amazing pose, as well as on the edited side of the photo, I made a creative change to the background, adding more tone of orange and a dark moody effect at the same time. Stay tune to understand the process.

What app I used to create this edit

Adobe Lightroom is know as one of the best photo editing mobile applications for android or ios user since few years back now. Lightroom offer it users a lot of tone adjustment, features and effect. I refers to it as an advanced photo editing because it has a lot of tone curve, color setting, filters etc.

How I Edit the Moody Orange Tone

Read carefully so as not to miss the whole process of the moody orange editing steps:
  • Open the Lightroom mobile application, and if you don't have it, download the app on your device whether Android or IPhone
  • Import your reference image into the Lightroom app
  • Click the "light" icon In the lightroom tools section and adjust the setting till you can see a good exposure In the reference image.
  • Then the colour section, this aspect you have to increase the "warmth" and "vibrance" in the image.
  • Now the "color mix" here you need to reduce all the saturation of each color except the orange, red. The yellow color mix you adjust the "Hue" till the yellowish color in the image turns to orange, then select done.
  • Click the "Texture" icon and add a bit of vintage, dehaze and feather to the image to add that moody effect.
  • Lastly click the "Detail" icon to add a bit of structure to the image.

Note: If you find it hard to understand the steps to editing the moody orange tone, I recommend you download the moody orange tone preset i made, it's way more easy to use. I have provided the moody orange tone preset below this post.
